2018 has been an amazing year when it comes to Funko releases. We've already seen loads of them, including a nice collection of exclusives.
Looks like we aren't yet done with getting new figures. What you see here is a list of rumored Funko figurines for both the Fantastic Beasts and Harry Potter lines. Although I think it's safe to assume we will see the items with pictures of the actual toys, these are all considered rumors until Funko official tells us about them or we see them on store shelves.
You'll notice that there are a couple of chase variants. This was a new term to me and no doubt to some of you. That means that the chase versions differ from the common ones and are randomly found. Often there is a 1/6 ratio of chase variants, which means that one in every six of a certain style will be the different one. Keep in mind that I have no idea what the ratio will be for the ones seen here.

Fantastic Beasts
It looks like there will be a large number of new Fantastic Beasts Funkos. My guess is that they will be released in or around November, when the second movie premieres.
This is the back of a Funko box and shows what I believe to be Wave 2 in the Fantastic Beasts line. According to this picture it includes:
- 14 - Newt Scamander (has chase variant)
- 15 - Albus Dumbledore
- 16 - Gellert Grindelwald
- 17 - Thestral
- 18 - Chupacabra (has Hot Topic exclusive)
- 19 - Pickett
- 20 - Matagot (has chase variant)
- 21 - Baby Nifflers (2-pack)
14 - Newt Scamander (chase variant)
The picture of Newt from above shows him holding a wand but this limited edition chase variant version has him holding a book. It's impossible for me to read the title but it looks strikingly like the Muggle version of Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, so I strongly suspect that's what it is.
15 - Albus Dumbledore
This is a young Albus Dumbledore, shortly after Newt Scamander was expelled from Hogwarts. He looks very dapper!
17, 18, 19 - Thestral, Chupacabra, and Pickett
This is a peak at the thestral, chupacabra, and Pickett the bowtruckle. I can't wait to get a closer look at the legendary chupacabra or find out how that creature fits into the next film, The Crimes Of Grindelwald.
21 - Chupacabra (Hot Topic exclusive)
It appears that Hot Topic is going to have an exclusive version of the chupacabra. It looks like it differs from the common one by having an open mouth.
20 - Matagot (chase variant)
The matagot is a new creature that we haven't yet been introduced to. It looks like a black cat with very large canine teeth. This is the chase variant version. It appears to look exactly the same as the one on the back of the box but it differs from the common one in that it glows in the dark.
2 Pack - Baby Nifflers
These are the baby nifflers and they are beyond adorable!!! One is crawling on all four paws and the other is sitting up, probably practicing putting things in his pouch.
22 - Niffler (Target exclusive)
This photo is of a Target exclusive niffler that is holding a pocket watch. The watch's chain is coming out of the niffler's pouch.
Lastly, there are rumored additions to the Funko Fantastic Beasts line that I've only heard about but not seen pictures of. These include two Rock Candy and at least one Plush figures. These were seen in the Barnes & Noble database and have release dates of September 1st and September 16th.
This is a screenshot of a store database. I don't know what most of the listings are for Fantastic Beasts but we can assume that there will be at least one more addition that I haven't listed above, that of the Fwooper, a magical bird.
Harry Potter
It looks like Harry Potter is about to get its first Mystery Box. For those of you new to the Mystery Box concept, it is a box that contains a variety of different Funko items. In this case, based on what I see in the picture, the Harry Potter box will be sold at Game Stop and contain one Pop!, one 5 Star, and pen. Potential contents will contain a combination of the following:
- Pop! - Sirius Black (common or chase variant in sepia tones)
- 5 Star - Harry Potter, Boggart Snape, or Sybil Trelawney
- Pen - Shrunken Head
The Vynl line is relatively new in the world of Funko and it always includes two characters. In this case, the pair will be Lord Voldemort with Nagini and Bellatrix Lestrange.
There are also a lot of Harry Potter Funko figures expected later this year that we've seen in store databases but don't know what they will look like. Based on the information I've found there will be:
