This is the fourth version of the Hogwarts Castle, and it is a huge set! It comes with a total of 1,228 bricks, making it second only to Diagon Alley as the largest set in the Harry Potter collection of LEGO® sets. It took me over three hours to built this set so expect to take about that long if you build it.
There are lots of secrets and surprises to find from a variety of the seven stories. I found items from the second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth stories. My guess is that LEGO® decided to mix items from multiple stories to add to the play value of this playset.
There are four separate buildings that you can connect together or leave apart. There is Headmaster Dumbledore's office, where you will find the sword of Gryffindor, a Basilisk fang (which Harry must have given to him after his adventures in the Chamber of Secrets), stairs that can open and close, and the Sorting Hat, which has a face on it.
At the bottom of the office, hidden away, is a trophy that was awarded to Harry's father, James Potter, for being a Seeker. This is one of my favorite secrets from this set.

There is a common room tower. On the bottom floor is Slytherin's common room. Above that is a statue that is hiding a secret book behind it - Tom Riddle's Diary! Above that is the Gryffindor common room, that has a fireplace and hidden inside the fireplace is Sirius Black's face in the flames, which comes from the fourth story when Harry asked Sirius for help with the Triwizard tournament tasks. At the top of this tower is the owlery, complete with owl droppings and three owls.
The next tower is the astronomy tower. You can see a large telescope at the top of this tower. The middle floor contains the restricted section of the library, complete with books that are locked and kept from students. The bottom level has a vanishing cabinet, which became important in the sixth story when Draco Malfoy fixed it.
The largest part of the castle is the Great Hall, which is ready for the final feast. It is decorated with banners for both Slytherin and Gryffindor, so you can decide which wins the House Cup. The tables are set. Ron Weasley should be happy because there is plenty of food to choose from, including a turkey with removable drumsticks!
As for minifigs, there are a lot! This is the only set that has Argus Filch and his cat Mrs. Norris, the Gryffindor knight statue, and Professor Flitwick. Professor McGonagall is only in two sets and this version is unique to this set. Professor Snape is in a lot of sets but this version is unique to this set, and the same is true of the Dumbledore minifig.
