Harry’s middle name is the same as his father’s first name.

The Dursleys were his only living relatives on both his mother’s and father’s side. Poor Harry!

Ginny fell in love with Harry the first time she saw him, but it took a lot longer for Harry to realize that she was the love of his life. Before he fell for Ginny, Harry developed a crush on Cho Chang. She reciprocated his feelings, but their relationship was very short lived.

The language of snakes is called Parseltongue but a person who can speak to snakes is called a Parselmouth.

For most people being able to speak Parselmouth is genetic and runs in families. Tom Riddle was a Parselmouth because he inherited the ability from his family, all of whom were heirs of Salazar Slytherin, a known Parselmouth. Harry, however, was able to speak to snakes because of Lord Voldemort’s attempt to kill Harry when he was a baby. The attack turned Harry into a Horcrux and gave him some of Voldemort’s abilities, including talking to snakes.

The Horcrux in Harry created a connection between himself and Voldemort. Harry lost both the connection to Voldemort and the ability to speak to snakes after his Horcrux was destroyed.

Rita Skeeter was a reporter who had no problem with blatantly lying to sell a story. During the Triwizard Tournament in the fourth story she interviewed Harry and said that he and Hermione were rarely seen without the other. Although true because they were best friends, Rita made it sound like they were an item.

Dolores Umbridge did not like Harry’s outspoken nature about the return of Lord Voldemort and gave him detention where he was to write “I must not tell lies” over and over again for his punishment. She forced him to use her quill, which she had magically enchanted so that anything Harry wrote was also written on the back of his hand. It didn’t take long for the writing to bleed, and Umbridge wasn’t satisfied until Harry had written the phrase so many times that it permanently scarred Harry’s hand. The evil toad!

Harry was called all of these names at one time or another throughout the entire series.

Harry thought he might like to become an Auror (dark wizard catcher) after he met Mad Eye Moody, and he achieved that goal after he defeated Voldemort.
