Wizarding World: Girls Who Rock The Wizarding WorldScholastic, the publisher of the Harry Potter books in the United States, recently announced that they will be releasing a book dedicated to the amazing girls and women in author J.K. Rowling’s magical world. The title of the book will be Wizarding World: Girls Who Rock The Wizarding World, and the expected release date is January 29, 2019.

Although the main character of the Harry Potter series is a boy, Harry would have either died or failed at the many challenges facing him if not for the help of the girls in his life. Hermione Granger is the most obvious person who comes to mind. Harry could have never solved the potions problem when they went to keep Severus Snape from stealing the sorcerer’s stone in the first book.  Don’t know what I’m talking about? That’s because it was a scene in the book but not the movie. It’s too bad it was left out of the film because it showed very early on how smart Hermione was.

There’s no denying how helpful Hermione was to Harry but she wasn’t the only one. Other courageous witches who assisted Harry in one way or another included Professor Minerva McGonagallLuna LovegoodGinny WeasleyMolly WeasleyNymphadora Tonks, Petunia Dursley (yes, you might hate her, but Harry would have perished at a very young age if she had turned her back on him), and even Draco Malfoy’s mother, Narcissa Malfoy. If not for Narcissa’s lie to Lord Voldemort when it looked as though the Dark Lord had finally succeeded in killing The Boy Who Lived, Voldemort would have triumphed and come to rule the magical community for who knows how long?

Twitter announcement about the upcoming book titled,

Keep in mind that very little other than the title and publication date have been shared with us so I have no idea how many of the female characters I just mentioned will be in the book. I’m sure most will, and others I didn’t initially think of. It will be almost a year before we get to see exactly which girls rock the wizarding world, but I suspect that finding out will be worth waiting for.

Which girls or women do you think should be included in this book? Tell me in the comments, along with your reasons why.
