It all started on June 30, 1997 with a book about a boy who didn't know he was a wizard. The publication of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone(known in the U.S.A. as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone) was the quiet beginning of what would become a world-wide phenomenon in the coming years.
J.K. Rowling published a total of seven books from 1997 to 2007 but that was not the end for Harry and his friends. As of this writing those seven books have sold around 450 million copies, making them one of the best selling series of all times!
Even more impressive is the fact that the last four books set records for becoming the fastest selling books in history. Would you believe that the last book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, sold more than 11 million copies within 24 hours of being released to the public? I bought one of those 11 million books the night the book was released, but I'll save the details of that night for another post.
The story of Harry Potter and his adventures and struggles in the magical world is told in many formats. Below is a list of the Harry Potter books, movies, and music posts.
