Adult coloring books are all the rage, but the Harry Potter coloring kit by Running Press takes a slightly different approach. Instead of being a book, it is a kit that has everything you need to color and display your completed artwork.
Before going any further I want to let you know that this kit is small. Very small. The box measures 3.75" x 3" x 2". In other words, it can fit in the palm of your hand. But I think there is a very good reason for this - the pictures are perfectly sized for being displayed on your refrigerator! If they were any bigger they would run the risk of taking up too much space, and if your fridge is anything like mine, it's already covered in art from my kids. Small is good.
Now that I've gotten that out of the way I'll move on to what comes with the coloring kit.
- 30 pictures printed on thick card stock
- 10 colored pencils
- 2 folding magnetic picture frames
- Foldable case that holds everything
The pictures include many popular characters, such as Harry, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Albus Dumbledore, Lord Voldemort, and Dobby. There are also magical creatures such as Buckbeak, and Hogwarts House crests.
I own this kit but haven't yet colored anything so I have no opinion about the pencils that are included. However, several people who have reviewed this on Amazon stated that the pencils are too light and require a lot of effort to use them. You might want to use markers instead of the included pencils. These watercolor pens would be a good choice.
Here is a video that I made as I opened and examined the kit for the first time.
Below are some pictures that are included in the Harry Potter coloring kit.
