Today was the day I've looked forward to all year, the day Hallmark revealed their 2017 Harry Potter ornaments! Like last year, they will have two different ornaments, one of which I'm super excited to get. So, without further ado, here are this years Harry Potter Hallmark ornaments, which went on sale July 15, 2017.
A Dangerous Game Ornament
The "A Dangerous Game" ornament depicts a scene from the first story, Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone. More specifically, it shows Harry Potter and Ron Weasley playing a life-sized version of Wizard Chess, something that Ron was particularly good at.
Ron is sitting atop a knight, which is actually a horse, and Harry is pointing towards the square that Ron should move to. It was shortly after this that Ron was dealt a blow that knocked him out of the game.
The ornament has a button that, when pressed, plays dialogue from the movie, including Ron saying, "I think this is going to be exactly like wizards chess," and "Knight to H3," and two others taken directly from the first movie.
Gringotts Wizarding Bank Ornament
The second ornament is the one that I can't wait to get. Okay, to be fair, I can't wait for both of them, but I think this one looks amazing! It is of the outside of Gringotts Wizarding Bank and has the escaped blind and abused Ukrainian Iron Belly dragon climbing on the top of it. It looks just like it did in the eighth movie, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part Two, except that it doesn't have Harry, Ron, or Hermione on its back. That would have been distracting so I'm okay with the trio being left out.
When you look at the pictures of this ornament you'll notice that there are a lot of windows. There is a reason for this. The back has a small hole where you can insert a light from your Christmas tree, and doing so will cause the windows to light up making it look like the goblins are hard at work keeping wizarding money safe.
Are you as excited as I am for the middle of July so you can buy these magical Harry Potter ornaments? I've already added this date to my calendar so that I can get them on the day they are released.
