December 3, 2019 was a very exciting night for a few Harry Potter fans because that was the night that the new Wizarding World Gold had it’s first Christmas party. The event was held at the Studio Tour in London and one of my friends was lucky enough to attend. I asked Tracey to write about her experience, which she did and I’m happy to share here on my site. Everything after this is in Tracey’s words.
Tracey’s Night at the 2019 Wizarding World Gold Christmas Party
I was so excited to get tickets for the wizarding world gold party. I started planning my trip straight away. We drove to London the morning of the party and checked into our hotel, I still can’t believe I’m going. We got ready and drove to the studio, at the entrance I started to feel like a big kid, we got our tickets and gold band then made our way into the entrance where we had drinks (mine was orange juice as I was driving) made friends and waited to go into the first part of the tour.
I was in group one. OMG, we walked through, waited patiently watching the screen ,and when the screen went up actor Warwick Davis stood there to greet us. Wow. We were called closer to the Great Hall doors and I can’t believe it, I was picked to open them. It was amazing to stand with Professor Flitwick at the Great Hall doors, I pushed them open to be greeted with the most perfect decorated hall.
At the beginning of the night we were given a form to fill in, a form where we could write down what we wanted an artist to draw on a large wall. I didn’t fill mine in as I wanted to keep it for my collection.
And then there was the seating plan. We all went to our seats and waited for the next group to arrive. Then Warwick Davis stood at the front of the hall, telling us stories about when he was on set. On our table was a pin and vouchers for ice cream, butter beer, and a wand of our choice.
The starters were brought out and I still couldn’t believe I was sat in the Great Hall. Then the doors burst open and death eaters entered. What a wonderful addition to the night.
We had our meal and made our way through to the studio tour, passing this amazing display [the wall of drawings made by an artist during the evening].
Once we finished the tour they put a disco on for us [dance], under the Gringotts dragon. Warwick Davis also did a quiz and the winners received a patronus Funko pop.
