Headmaster Albus Dumbledore October 31, 2021 @ 8:54PM

Good Morning Students and Staff:

A morning I will not long forget. As I was walking down the sixth floor corridor I happened to look into a open door of a broom closet and it was Sir Nicholas, or as most know him as Nearly Headless Nick, sitting crying with his head in his hands. It seems after all this time that his head has finally come off his body. I ask if he was in any pain or did he know how it happened. Nicholas told me that he knew not and they were tears of joy. He had for centuries wanted the job complete, to have a severed head and not just a partially severed one. I ask how Sir Nicholas told me that late last night the crystal ball, living in the Whomping Willow, came to him to grant him a wish if he pleased. He could only think of one wish. A wish that he had wanted for centuries, for his head to be detached so he could float with pride! Sir Nicholas said in flash of bright light and a high pitch sound he was sitting there with his head in hands. "Dear Albus, I cannot tell you how happy I am now. I can now haunt the hallways of Hogwarts with pride again." So from now on to all who know him as Nearly Headless Nick will now be know as Headless Nick.

Regards,
Headmaster Dumbledore
