Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the last book in the Harry Potter series, was published in 93 different countries on July 21, 2007, ten years after the first book was published. Deathly Hallows sold a record-breaking 15 million copies in its first 24 hours of release, which broke the previous record of nine million held by Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. As of this writing, Deathly Hallows still holds that record according to the Guinness Book of World Records.

In this book Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger hunt for the final Horcruxes, as well as a way to destroy them. The also prepare for the final showdown with Lord Voldemort. Along the way the trio comes to understand the importance of love and friendship as they transition into adults.
