Good Morning Students and Staff:
Well that was interesting. When I left to go back to Hogwarts the other day someone had changed the destination on the portkey I was using to get back home. It took me two days to get back. When I left Orlando, Florida, in the states to come back I ended up instead in Hong Kong. Quite away from where I intended to go. So I decided to see where this all would take me. After some fine food for a meal I touched the portkey and, whoosh! I was back in Orlando. Interesting indeed!
So one more time, I thought, and I will either be back at Hogwarts or Hong Kong. No, that was not the case. Instead I was in Antarctica, standing in 2 feet of snow. Well, that was not expected! So one more touch to see where I go. Next was France, so while there I visited Beauxbatons Academy of Magic. There they invited me to spend the night. How wonderful it was. My host was very gracious, as always. Head mistress Madame Maxime was charming and accommodating as ever.
The next morning I abandoned the portkey to Professor Celeste at the Academy for investigation. I have not ridden a broom in ages but Madam Maxime gave me a fine ride, one with a large seat attached for comfort with a long handle for maneuverability. Why not? So off I went. I had such a time! Now back, I need a rest from my trip!
Warm regards,
Headmaster Dumbledore
