While looking for something completely unrelated, I stumbled across a video of two people performing the Harry Potter Theme on various sized crystal glasses filled with water. Curious, I clicked the "play" button and was shocked by what I heard. Their rendition of Harry Potter Theme is stunningly beautiful and it sounds like the music was made for their unique instrument.
As you watch the video, look at how many glasses there are! It's hard to count them but my estimate is that there are at around 75-100 glasses on the table. I'm awed that they figured out exactly what notes to play, and what makes it even more impressive is the fact that there are two people playing together, not just one.
The man and woman playing in the video call themselves GlassDuo and I did a little research on them. What I found is that their instrument is a glass harp and it is made up of ordinary wine glasses. They have performed with just their instrument and with orchestras, chamber ensembles, dancers, and other musical and artistic formats.
They have released several albums so if you love what you hear you might want to check out their other music (as of this writing, the Harry Potter Theme is not among the pieces they have published). You can see their music on Amazon.
