Harry Potter learned from Hagrid in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone that unicorn blood can keep a person alive, but in doing so it damns the person because a creature as pure as a unicorn should never be murdered.
Unicorn blood is beautiful to look at and you can make your own bottle of unicorn blood.
On a side note, unicorn blood is described as silver in the story and the blood seen here is a gradient of blues. I think it looks lovely with the blues but if you prefer to be faithful to the book then you can use just silver glitter.

Instructions
Fill the bottom of bottle with glue, about 1/4 full. Add some silver glitter and mix it into the glue using the paintbrush.
Let the glue dry for one to two days, until it is tacky. Do not skip this step at any point in the instructions or the glitter will fall to the bottom of the glue.
Add glue till the bottle is 1/2 full. Add some light blue glitter and mix it into the glue that you just added.
Let the glue dry for one to two days, until it is tacky.
Add more glue until the bottle is filled 3/4 full. Add some turquoise glitter and mix it into the glue that you just added.
Let the glue dry for one to two days, until it is tacky.
Add more glue until it is completely full, but leave enough room to insert the cork. Add some of the dark blue glitter and mix it into the glue that you just added.
Let the glue dry for one to two days, until it is tacky.
Add a label. You can use a sticker or you can make your own label from paper and glue it to the bottle.
Cut a piece of wire about an inch in length and insert one end of the wire into the cork.
Place cork firmly into the bottle.
Use the pliers to twist the wire down so that it makes a circle. The circle should be large enough for you to insert your necklace into it, but not too large. Be sure to make the circle tight with no openings so the chain won't slip off.
Add chain to make this a necklace (optional).
Note: Some people found that their glitter fell to the bottom instead of mixed with the glue. I already said this above but it bears repeating. Make sure you let the glue dry for one to two days. This makes the glue tacky and keeps the glitter in place.
