Narcissa Malfoy’s Wand

Rochelle September 17, 2015 @ 1:31PM

You have multiple wands to choose from if you want to buy Narcissa Malfoy's wand. There is Ollivander's traditional wand, an interactive wand, and even a custom handmade version available. Regardless of which version you choose, your wand will show others that you are confident and only want the finest things in life, just like Narcissa!

In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Narcissa let her son Draco use her wand after his was taken in the skirmish at Malfoy Manor with Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley. Draco lost her wand in the Room of Requirements, and shortly after it was destroyed when Vincent Crabbe conjured Fiendfyre that he couldn't control (Gregory Goyle did this in the film). The Fiendfyre consumed everything in the Room of Requirements, including Narcissa's wand.

Wand Wood

The wood of Narcissa's wand is unknown, but we can make an educated guess about it. The shaft of Narcissa's wand was very similar to her husband Lucius's wand, which was made of elm wood. The wood of elm was believed by many to produce magic only for pure-blood witch and wizards, however, this has been debunked as a myth since there have been many Muggle-borns paired to elm wands.

Given that Narcissa's wand closely matches her husband's and that she believed in pure-blood superiority, I think it is safe to assume that her wand was made from elm. Elm wood wands are known to choose witches and wizards who have great confidence and magical dexterity.

The length is unknown.

Wand Design

Narcissa's wand looks very regal and feminine. The handle is black with white studs adorning it. Above and below the handle are silver embellishments that add to the regal appearance of the wand.

Ollivanders Wand

Although we do now know for sure, Narcissa probably bought her wand from Ollivanders Wand Shop when she was eleven and getting ready to go to Hogwarts. This is also where you can find this wand for sale if you are fortunate enough to go to Universal Studio's Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It comes in one of Mr. Ollivander's boxes that is lined with a soft material to keep your wand safe for years to come.

Interactive Ollivanders Wand

Interactive wands are Ollivander wands, but unlike traditional Ollivander wands, these can be used to cast magical spells at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal Studios. There is an interactive version of Narcissa Malfoy's wand that looks identical to the one seen above, except at the tip.

I wrote about interactive Harry Potter wands if you are unfamiliar with them. You can read about them here.

Here is a video that I took of my daughter as she used her interactive wand to cast a spell. FYI - This is one of the hidden spell locations...
